Is my exhaust supposed to look like this?

Just noticed this while crawlin around under my car. What would cause this? And would replacing the pipe cause any performance gains?

if you have a stock m20, that will not cause anything close to a restriction. As for whether it is supposed to be like that, I have no idea.

I think my eta's exhaust had a similar flattened area in the same place--where the pipe passes under the rear subframe. Might be factory, but my exhaust was so cobbled together I'm not sure. I swapped it for an "i" setup from the downpipes on back.

From a 318is. It would have to be some pretty intense subframe movement.

Did you not notice the location of your fuel filter?
