twin vs single exhuast

im thinking about what exhaust to run on my 2.7

i want to go with a twin pipe system with 6-3-2 headers with twin pipes with whole way back at 2.25" diameter. but finding decent twin in and out mufflers is hard. i guess we dont have the range readily available in NZ.

i also thought of going to a single 3" with it. But i think for flow, sound and looks the twin would be the better option.

what are others running and what are their thoughts?
has anyone else tried both options? perhaps not in those exact sizes...

Just run a single 2.5in. pipe. You wont lose that much ground clearance. There really is no reason to run dual pipes. You also don't need 3in. for a 2.7, it really is overkill. You will never be able to tell a difference looks wise, just use a single in, dual out muffler. As for sound, it will not be different.

the reason i was thinking the larger pipe was i plan to have a 288 cam in with a bit of port work and 11:1 compression. so thought the bigger pipe would be needed for flow.

3" is fine.
You already have headers, so just make sure you get a tune to utilize all your "hardware".

Even with the head work and cam I would recommend a single 2.5" exhaust.
