custom exhaust: am I going to hate this?

factory y from the headers into 2.25 pipe with an el cheapo resonator and muffler. no o2, no cat because eta

local shop wants 90 for welding, hangers and pipe etc. so I'll be out $175 for sweet custom tunes, lol.

I should add that I'm okay with the sound of my all but fallen off stock exhaust and I rather enjoyed the twin silencer on my old e36. main reason for the "upgrade" is to keep it from dragging the ground or hitting another car on the road.

i would do a completed "i" exhaust since your is an eta. i had one on my previous eta and it made a huge difference. more flow and quiet.

yes, you need the whole cat + end pipe.

the problem with your suggestion is that i stuff is hard to come by or expensive around here.

well this went from bad to worse.

pulled the muffler and resonator last night. both came off without tools. sounds nice at idle but anything over 2K is brutal! need something quick.

okay new plan, per forum recommendations and youtube vids I decided to go with magnaflow.

setup will be a tube style resonator and oval magnaflow. nothing fancy, no dual tips.

next day air and install tomorrow, vid and pics after that.

Update? I need to improve my eta's exhaust and am curious to know how this turned out.

i don't have a mount to get video in motion but I can take some tonight. i'll work some duct tape magic, lol.
it is loud but tolerable daily, i'd tone it down slightly if i were to do it again.
