89 325i Custom Exhaust

I just pulled my exhaust from the manifold down to drop my fuel tank and since I got it off I mine as well get my exhaust done.
Will a single pipe 2.5" exhaust work?
I was thinking of getting the Magnaflow 53956 High Flow Spun Cat, and either a single/single or single/dual Magnaflow muffler.
Any recommendations? What will a shop charge me for pipe, bending, wielding and labor? I'm looking for a good sound and good performance.

magnaflow usually sounds good. if its done right. a couple hundred $ possibly for the whole thing installed from an exhaust shop. have them weld it and install it yourself theyll probably charge an hour labor + parts

You can get all the pieces from summit racing for ~ $200 and do it yourself, but that is also about what a shop would charge you.

When you say get "all the pieces", that must be picking and choosing pieces, and perhaps not all the pieces? The only catback kit I can find (which obviously doesn't even include the cat) is $616, which is a far cry from $200.

The cat the OP wants does ring in at under $70, so how does one go about getting the correct muffler and pipes with the remaining $130?
