Exhaust Notes From An OLD E30 Driver

    All,

I spent numerous hours on forums and online (including here) looking for the right muffler for a '87 325e Base w/factory headers, cat, 2" to a 18" resonator (that was basically a glasspack installed by prior owner) then 2" back and decided to Flowmaster 40 with dual tips out. I have never been so impressed with the E30 as I have been prior. These cars still amaze me.
Thanks for all of the help.

    1987 325 Base
ODO stopped at 158K so I guesstimate 300K plus and still going strong

Why the extend the pipe all the way into the tips?

      Tips were probably an afterthought.

        Extended TIPs

It was an afterthought just to hide the inevitable rust that's bound to happen over the years. He gave me stainless instead of chrome for the same price.
(20 bucks for both). Love the sound of the FM 40 and it is a little quieter than the straight glasspack which I was told all I really needed in NC.

        Other notes:
Just recently ordered the Turnermotorsports chip and will try to post exhaust notes after it's installed.

Also I have a BAVAUTO 28 PIN chip for 027 ECU really cheap to recoup some of the investment if anyone is interested. Will repost to classified.
