aftermarket vs stock

i recently purchased an 89 325ix and the exhaust has holes in multiple places, throughout. cat down pipes muffler. so my question is would it be more beneficial (esp cost effective) to go the after market route?

anyone know where i can get good reletively cheap downpipes/ catalytic for the e30?

ok so aftermarket catback systems you have to be really careful with. since many of them are made cheaply, they will choke your engine and destroy it. Are you in Clifton NJ?

I've yet to see a good and cheap aftermarket set up. Stay stock, or pay for quality.
