Muffler choices for m10

So my 85 318i has developed an annoying exhaust rattle that is coming from the muffler. I'm guessing a baffle inside must be broken and that is what makes the rattling sound.

I want to replace muffler and was thinking of getting a catback since at the very least I want the exhaust shop to put a flange after the cat (the PO got the cat replaced and they didn't put any flanges back in). My issue was first off I wanted a muffler that is louder then stock but I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud because my car is slow and I think thats just stupid.

So yeah do you guys have any recommendations on what sort of muffler or catback I should get? Would a catback yield me any sort of power increase (even minimal.

I had an Magnaflow catback on my m10 before we pulled it out of the car. I actually still have it if you'd be interested. Some surface rust, but not terrible. It had a great sound on there to be honest, so even if you don't want a used one, I highly recommend it.

I actually ended up just going with a magnaflow muffler and leaving the exhaust behind it alone. I am not sure if i'm super happy with that choice, the muffler itself doesn't sound bad, its a little quiter then i would like but on the throttle it sounds nice.

I figured my m10 wouldn't respond to a bigger catback (2 1\4th inch), but sometimes I wonder what could have been.

we run a IE header. put 2.5" exhuast on, with a summit glasspack straight thru and a quick down turn. sounds mean as hell.
