    M42 Exhaust Options?

I got my 318is about a month ago and I've noticed it is almost prius quiet(don't know if it should be like that). I was wondering if there are any mufflers that have a somewhat deep/throaty sound.

I had a Dynamax superturbo muffler on mine and it sounded nice. You'll never get a real throaty sound considering it's a 4cyl but it didn't have any real annoying buzz to it. Also they're only like $50.

Best I've heard in person was Borla.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Which Borla? I've been eyeing a pro-XS for some time, but haven't wanted to tackle building an exhaust out of stainless.

There has been much discussion of resonators vs. M42s, anyone have any additional input on the length that might be ideal? According to what I recall a 18" resonator evened the exhaust out substantially.

I saw a vid of a dynomax without the resonator and it sounded damn nice, not sure if it'd be worth it to go straight pipe. So far I'm leaning towards that.
