Exhaust Leak - Broken Flex Pipe?

I have a huge exhaust leak on my 1989 325is, the flex pipe broke. To those that have experienced this problem before, did you replace the flex pipe with another oem flex or go another route? www.realoem.com doesn't have a diagram of it or part number.

I got mine removed, then had a new style flex pipe (stainless steel, braided) installed. Paid $120 for parts & labor at a local muffler shop.

This sounds like the perfect excuse to put the car on stands and start your turbo build

Haha trust me, I thought about that MANY times over the last couple days. Don't have the funds right now though :(

Been running a cracked flex pipe for months lol been saving up for some long tube headers. I was quoted $160 by a shady shop to fix it with a newer style flex pipe.

Exactly., and I want to say the piece is probably 4-5 inches long. That thing really made a difference, with the exhaust fumes and muffler tone.

Lol I hear you. I've been running mine for at least 6 months but the car is starting to run so rich it's killing me. Starting to bog as well.
