Has anyone tried the auto dynasty headers that are on Amazon for $120 I don't expect much but I payed 750 for a running driving car so how bad can they be?

So, a lot of the time here on r3v, there is a "if it's not the absolute best part available, kittens and babies will die everywhere if you buy it" attitude. Dude, if you have $120 and want those headers, get em. The head is usually the bottleneck on the m20's. They will likely flow better than the factory ones. As far as if you want them to last a long time, save a little longer and grab some better ones.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

have any of you guys tried those $120 amazon headers yet? if so how do you like them so far? do they bolt up nicely? do they do anything performance wise? or just more noise? lol and would you need a bigger intake and tune or anything make sure enough air is getting into the engine? never done headers before just trying to learn as much as i can before i purchase headers not necessarily the amazon headers but any headers. thanks in advance

If $120 isn't going to kill your bank account, give them a shot and let us know how they are.
Mostly likely, they will be the typical Chinese thin-walled tubing with holes that won't perfectly line up with the studs. But with a little massaging they will fit and probably flow better than the stock cast manifolds.'90 325is Schwarz

Might be a slight upgrade from stock, if nothing at least for looks. I wouldn't expect them to last long and will likely rust/crack/deteriorate after a few years. Getting them ceramic coated would help, but you'll spend as much or more on coating them as you will on buying the headers.
Considering that it is a bit of a pain to install them do to clearance issues and working in tight spaces, I would rather buy something a bit better and only have to install them once, not once every few years.
The eBay ones are known for being raspy, just an FYI.

The holes wont line up with the studs, you'll need to make room for the motor mount, clock the oil filter 180 if you have an oil cooler, the hole in the O2 bung is punched out with a Lincoln log so you'll need a carbide bit or something to debur the jagged metal in there to thread in the sensor. Nothing will line up without heat, time, pry bars, time, a buddy, time, or welder time. Its 120 bucks and if you have time to fiddle with it go for it, otherwise walk away. It will look good once, then when you start the engine it will turn ugly blue purple green shit, so coat it with high temp paint, ceramic coat, header wrap, or dont care.
Final thought, unless you have a custom exhaust, ie 2.5 single pipe with a muffler in mind, not worth it. There are no cheap free flowing mufflers to compliment the oe duel exhaust pipe size.Last edited by 325islovE; 05-24-2015, 10:14 AM.1988 325is alpine
