    Help with horrible exhaust note

Finally got around to installing my new exhaust set up. (cat removed)
Bav Auto headers -> mid pipes -> Y adapter -> single 2" run to a single 2" inlet Supersprint exhaust -> dual tips out.

HORRIBLE raspy exhaust at initial take off and between shifts.
    What did I do wrong?
I'm really wishing I hadn't fucked with removing the cat.

    Add an X-Pipe ? Resonator ?

    Any help appreciated

You might want to put a resonator in or a free flow cat...my set up used a universal cat and it toned it down a bit..sweet idle..crowls at higher rpms

So . . . a resonator or hi flow cat tied into each straight pipe ?

cats would be pretty pointless unless you have to meet emissions requirements or care about the environment. i'd stick a pair of resonators right before that y-pipe. looks like the only place to fit them without redoing your piping. ideally, i would think moving that y-pipe to the straight section right after the headers would let you run just one longer/bigger resonator on the 2" single section right under the driveshaft.

^^^That's what I would do. Having the headers merge closer up to the engine is better as well. You don't need an x pipe if you have the Y there as it is essentially one.

So headers directly into the Y ? ? -- or should I allow for a few inches of that 2" straight pipe before tying in?
Also - any advise on the length/brand of resonator ?
            Thanks guys

I would suggest merging the headers into the y-pipe and running a single pipe into straight through muffler and finally to the supersprint. I did a similar setup and the sound is fantastic. OEM header -> high flow cat -> borla xr1 -> full boar and its quiet at idle and really opens up when you step on it. Prior to that set up I had the y-pipe merged at the rear axle like your current setup and the exhaust was horrible with an unbearable drone...

or put a 3in out y-pipe right where the headers end and run 3in piping all the way back with a resonator and a muffler.

You need a resonator tho it'll help ALOT.

Screw resonators. They don't make all that of a difference.
Move your Y-pipe closer to the headers, and get a second muffler put in in that gaping space where your current Y-pipe is.

Doing this is also going to get you the proper o2 reading from all cylinders instead of just 3 from where I can see where your bung is now.

Maybe have them put a V-band after the Y-pipe and another before the muffler to make life easier when you need to service things.

                      RASPY note gone.
                      Exhaust complete:
Bav Auto headers -> Y adapter(single 2.5" outlet) -> Vibrant Resonator ->single 2.5" run into a single inlet Supersprint exhaust -> dual tip out.
Bung now located just after the Y in the single 2.5" run.
