    Replacing catalytic converter with glasspacks?

I'm looking to make my 87 325is sound meaner and louder, right now it has stock everything in the entire exhaust system. I just bought a Magnaflow 14815 muffler that I plan on having a shop weld in, and I'm wondering if I should do anything about the cat. I assume it's the original cat, and while I haven't noticed any performance issues, I've heard that removing it can yield some noticeable performance gains.

I'm considering buying two 1.75" diameter glasspacks to put in where the cat is now to further improve noise. How long is an m20 cat? I found these glasspacks online that I'm not sure if they're good or not, they come in different lengths.

Bottom line is, I want my car to sound noticeably louder, but I don't want it to be unbearable like a straight-piped setup.
