    resonator needed

i am going to eliminate my cat, but i am looking to replace it with a resonator of some sort (low restriction) to try to keep the noise to about the same level as with the cat maybe a little quieter. i already have shorties, and a brullen cat back. i can fab/weld it myself, no prob. just need suggestions on where and what brand/model.
    thanks,
    greg

Supersprint makes euro resonators, but they aren't cheap. I understand that they are pretty high flow compared to stock cats.

Just use straight through glass packs. I have a "euro resonator" from racing dynamics - dual in/out, and it is merely a straight through dual glasspack design. Very available, affordable, and easy to use. Many others on this forum have done the same.

If you need madrel bends to do the job, I recommend buying header extensions from summit racing. They are an s shaped pipe, but when cut in half, it equal two mandrel bends. They cost about $20 = 4 mandrel bends. Good deal too.

is it possible to find a dual in/out glasspack, that isnt a overpriced "euro" resonator?

Advance Auto sells straight through glasspacks from Thrush for roughly $25 a piece. Very well made, i accidentally jacked the car up by one when installing them and it left a minor dent. :P

dood you should just get a thin duel in out muffler and use that instead of glasspacks, it'll quiet your car down tons more than a cherrybomb type resonator

i was thinking more along those lines since i found out with my jetta when i removed the cat the second res. that i installed burned out alot quicker. i was told that is was from the unburned gas collecting in the glass pack. i was thinking about using a single chamber flowmaster (cheater racing muffler) or maybe a B&B, same design just the baffle plates are pererated for more flow. that way there is nothing to burn out and need replacing. anyone have ideas along that line?
