    which exhaust? flowmaster any good?

yea im deciding between the dynomax super turbo, magnaflow street satin, or flowmaster 40 series. anyone have experience with the flowmaster 40series? hows the gains and sound? the reason i ask is a muffler shop near my house carries the 40 series but ive never heard it before, just wondering if any of you guys had this on your e30. thanks! btw its going on a seta 88.

Most BMW owners will bash Flowmaster but I am a big fan fo their products. I had a Flowmaster 3 chamber muffler on my old turbo E30. I can't remember what model it was though.

I think that there is two different 40 series. I never had a flowmaster on a 6 cyl. all of mine was on V8's. And they allways had a great sound to them.

yea theres a standard 40 series and a super 40 series, the one he was offering me was the stardard which is rated to be the loudest out of all the flowmaster models. yikes but then again its going to be put on a 6 cylinder, most of their ratings are for v8s. anyone else have experience? btw the 40 series are two chamber mufflers. what differs from the 3 chamber ones?

If you're looking for gains in performance from exhaust, you won't find any. :)

also what size should i get for my exhuast, i believe the one i have now is a 5x11 with a 22inch body which is considerably one of the biggest mufflers they offer at magnaflow, now whats the benifit of going with a big muffler instead of a smaller one like a 8x9? or smaller body?

A friend of mine had a 40 series flowmaster on his 97 blazer 4.3L v6. Did not sound too good. I don't think it will sound good on a 2.7L I6. I heared a B&B triflow yesterday on an e30 and it was nuts. It had a great sound.

Go 2.5in from cat back to a straight through (5x8 I think) Magnaflow muffler. It sounds amazing. Very low pitched, yet screams at high rpm. Silversleeper can vouch for this.
