    Need an exhaust

I have a glass pack right now and it just isn't working. It looks like crap and is really load. I am running a 3' diameter single pipe all the way back. What kind of muffler do you suggest. I'm just going to hack the old unit off and weld on a new one, it doesn't have to be made for an e30 or look good, or anything like that. It just has to be cheap and suitable for an m50. Any suggestions?

I'd say get a turbo muffler or flowmaster if you want it quieter. Or a Hooker muffler might suit your needs http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...710+115+400390 you can look through there to see what you like. I got a Hooker cat back on my firebird, it's not that loud and not very quiet either

i have Dynomax superturbo, 2.5 in 2.5 out, sounds good in my opinion. with the magnaflow hiflow cat, it is pretty raspy tho. but since you are doing the m50, might not be so raspy.

Are the Hooker mufflers comprable to the flow master in sound level?

Are you running a straight pipe all the way back to a glasspack? No cat, no resonator? If so, that is your problem. It will sound like a bag of ass if you do that.

You need a resonator and a muffler. For the muffler, you need the biggest one you can fit under there. You can fit a 5x11x22 under there, but you'll have to get creative with bends if you want to make it fit right. 3" is rather large for an M50.

The hookers are less tinny of a sound then a flowmaster. And that is this hooker muffler here http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku . I don't know what their turbo mufflers sound like. We had a 91 blazer with a 4.3v6 with 2 1/2" exhaust, catco cat and a hooker muffler like in link but with 2.5 in and out. It wasn't high pitched and had a deeper sound to it.

                Ummm...yeah.

Change the 3" back to a 2.5". You're missing all sorts of torque.
