    Where to drill o2 bung?

'Bout to get into some serious tuning stuff with MarkD, and this means wideband data-logging and such. Is there any ideal place to drill this bad boy in, or should I just shoot for the passenger-side downpipe near the real o2 sensor?

Oh, and this is for the upcoming ballin' plug and play MAF kit for M20 cars.

You are going to want to mount the sensor up and down if at all possible so moisture doesn't collect in it. It is recommended that you mount it at leas 12-18in downstream from the head/turbo so you don't over heat the sensor. So yes.. near the stock merge for the o2 sensor is best.

Up and down? Meaning sort of like how the stock one is, i.e. "vertical"?

Ah, i'm always down for a good bung drilling ;)

FWIW, though, my stock one is horizontal - pointing straight out of the side of the downtube parallel to the ground.

Fuck, mine probably is too. Then again I have these IE headers on now, so maybe it is slightly diagonal or something.

Yea... vertical.. It is from my understanding much more important to have widebands vertical because of the sensitivity of the sensor.

              A) Ask MarkD.

              B) Look in the directions to your wideband.

              C) It's not real critical.

                A) Of course I did. Second opinions never hurt.

                B) He has the wideband. But thanks.

                C) Thank you for the real answer I was looking for.

23.189 degrees counter clockwise from the crank alignment mark

Really the stock location should be just fine, maybe rotate it up a little so the wire doesn't have a chance to rub the frame.

The only consideration i've heard of is the moisture - but that's if you use the WBO all the time (not just for tuning).

go to the Innovate LC-1 forum for an insightful answer to your question, i forget now
