I have a bosal on my 318is. It pretty much looks stock, and I assume that it will look stock for the 325 as well. For the 4-cylinder, at least, the exhaust sounds like a ricer fart can without the looks. At under 25% throttle, it is reasonably quiet, but it gets very rattly and loud above that. My advice is to stick with stock, upgrade to a super-turbo or similar (I will probably do this soon), or save up for a higher-quality piece, i.e. supersprint.

I just replaced the rotted Bosal with an Ansa in my 318i. Ansa was cheaper and it looks better made than the Bosal.

I bought a Bosal cat for my e36 and the front flanges would not line up with the manifold. Weird. I got a refund and bought a "test" pipe from a yard and it passed the emissions test.

Most of CARR stuff is from other shops. It's a Ireland Engineering mufffler.

I've got a Bosal rear on my 325i courtesy of the PO. It has a nice deep tone at very low RPMs but is not heard at anything above 1800RPM. It is pretty much stock sounding to me. I can't wait to ditch it for some volume!

              bosal

My cheap ass went with the Bosal, It's fitted and sounds ok. I have the cash I'm just saving it for some stuff I know will cost me alot more once I find it.

I'll rethink this once the Bosal rusts off. Probably do headers then too.

The PO put some custom catback exhaust with a bosal muffler on my car. It is pretty loud to me. ALMOST that ricey tone, but deeper. My feelings on it are neutral.

Bosal is shit. My 325is has stock exhaust, with a bosal muffler, and it sounds no better than stock in my opinion. It makes a little noise above 5k, but not really. Anyone buying a bosal for any reason other than that it's cheaper than OEM is just throwing money away.

Edit: PO put the muffler on btw. Not me.

I have a Bosal. I was under the impression that it was an OEM replacement... didn't know it was an "upgrade".

It does sound a bit more rumbly than I expected down low, but the engine drowns it out anywhere above 2K.

Yup same here and same opinion. Its not a bad muffler though. So it seems.
