    Newb exhaust question.

I looked through the first page, and I don't know "noise terminology" So I don't know what to ask for...But...I don't know how to say this..It's gonna come out stupid so I might as well shoot for the sky. I love the sputtering rumble you get when you let off the gas on a large engine. Is that just caused by the length of the headers? I'm not looking for super loud engine either, and preferrably something throaty..But I have to keep the cat. Honestly, I like the sound of an I without its muffler..Any way i can get that sound..with a muffler?

I would like to know what a hooker muffler would sound like on one. I got one on my firebird and it's not too loud and not too quite either. So that just may be one muffler to look at.

EDIT: i got long tubes on my 85 with no cats and 2 1/4" duels with a X pipe and a pair of glass packs out back, It is very loud.

i just put a cherry bomb on mine... my stock had a big leak, so i cut it off right at the begining of the muffler, i pulled the old pipe out of it, and the cherry bomb fit right in, then i cut my old tip off, and put it on the new one, perfect fit, i did this on my 318is, idk if it will work with a 325, you'll have to make sure there is room for 2 of them :/ but i got the cherry bomb at autozone for $20 it isnt so loud that you get annoyed, but it has a low grumble kinda sound, and i really enjoy driving it alot more now. it is also cheep so if you dont like it, you can get a diff miffler and not have wasted alota money.

We've got a pair of cherry bombs on our track rat. It's a little droney but not that loud, unless you get on it.
