You know, I always wanted to ask this since we are on this subject. Were different mufflers mounted differently to the body of the car ?

My Ansa Sport didn't come with any hanging hardware, so I ended up welding a thick wire to the side of it. The other end was "L" shaped to go through the oem rubber "doughnut" attached to the body of the car.... but I don't think that's how it should be mounted....

You can get the straps from the dealer for not too much cash .

Or most of the online vendors have complete hardware sets for a reasonable price .

Any used straps you'll find will probably be rusted to shit. Just get replacement straps and hardware, its not too expensive. My nuts/bolts were absolutely rusted beyond use. I ended up cutting one fucker off with a hacksaw!

IE has the whole kit for $55. I got that and used it to put in my new Eberspacher exhaust. Nice kit with the proper "copper" nuts. Only problem is one of the straps has the spot welds loosening up already.
