    Round Magnaflow Mufflers?

    First post!

....so i have an '84 e, that has an '89i motor swapped.....it has the cats removed, y'd into a single 2-1/4" exhaust into a resinator, that goes back to an ebay muffler w/some big tips...

but its LOUD AS SH*T...so basically i want to quiet it down...

has anyone ever used the round Magnaflows before? I am thinking of replacing the resinator with one of these...they are about the same length, so i think im going to just cut the welds on the resinator and weld the magnaflow back in....but i dont want to spend $70 on a muffler if its not going to quiet it down any...

    any thoughts are appreciated!

    cheers!

welcome .. adding ANY additional muffler will quiet down a loud car ... if u add a straight thru style, it will not quiet down as well as a 'oval barrell' type muffler will. check noise restrictions/ordinances in your area.. getting a ticket may cost more than $70

people have good luck with long glass packs, search that and see what people have said. I am redoing my system in a few weeks and i might go with this route.

I currently have a "Y" just before the cat, single 2.5" cheap-o fleabay cat going back to an ebay special DTM (racerX right here, yO!) POS muffler. All done by the PO.

It is fucking LOUD, but it does sound really sexy...in a sort of "wanna be" way.

I want quiet, but not as quiet as stock.

I am gonna go with a Spin Tech muffler, single 2.5" in, dual 2.0" out, into Borla intercooled single tips, straight cut. The owner of SpinTech said he will do a custom one with closer spacing for about $20 extra.

              Oh yeah, welcome to R3V
