Do a Youtube search "e30s52 music city mustang club track day", my vids are V1-V8. That is the sound of duel 2.5" pipes exiting out just under the ps door, NOT the Cobra R that I pass. I wear earplugs with my helmett.

i have a single 3 inch pipe, from the bottom of the downpipe back, with just a glas pac, that is very well worn in. Its very very loud, and your welcome to it for pretty cheap
If you wanna show up the drifters just buy some of the tires with the colored rubber. No one will pay attention to your exhaust note if you have red, blue, or green smoke blasting out from under the rear of the car.
Except only Kumho makes them and they are in teh shitty SPT compound.
Loudest exhaust would be no cat, no muffler, just pipes.

What the hell was that? A lawn chair frame with a sunroof panel attached to it...
Kinda its electrical condiuit some 1/2" and 3/4" with a sunroof panel attached. Doubtful the lawn chair frame would have been strong enough. First attempt resulted in the frame deflecting in the inches just by my hand pressure, the extra points allowed me to stand on it without anything more then a millimeter or so of movement. Tho I can't claim any good engineering on it, just the matter that it hasn't fallen off in 3 months now.
Technically, I believe most 240sx that are drifting now days have swapped for an sr20det.(quick little bastard) As for the exhaust, find a muffler you like, listen to a note, if it seems to suit you take it to a shop and have em fab up a system. The straighter the pipe and the wider the diameter the louder it will be. I don't know that a db range should be your main concern though, I would think overall performance would be the key driving factor amongst the drifting crowd.
