m42 exhaust worth it?

Is installing a larger dia exhaust system worth it on the m42? If so what size and what gains are expected?

Larger diameter will lose you torque. You can get a little more top end with a higher-flowing muffler, but the piping and the resonator are fine. High-flow cats can also make the car sound pretty raspy.

For noise? Yes.

Don't do an exhaust on your 318 expecting to turn it into an M3. But you can definitely help make it sound better...
