    Anyone N/A with aftermarket headers?

Hey guys, I have a 325 that I have bought a set of exhaust headers for it. Planning on installing them this weekend. Has anyone used this before? Any sound clip? Im trying to figure out if I am just going to pipe it all the way to the rear, or put a muffler on it...Def. no cat. NC no emission test. hehe. Any suggestions?

ps. Bought it off egay...:-? but product looks of excellent quality.;)

I had those on my previous e30. Went from those to a "y-pipe" to 2.5" single pipe back to a no-name muffler. The y-pipe was done horribly, actually it wasn't ven a y-pipe, more of a combine on pipe into the other one at a 75 degree angle. Unfortunately, the setup had a high pitched tone that was raspy when cold.

I would recommend this setup only if the y-pipe is correctly done and a good muffler is used. The flow should be decent and the sound nice and deep.

I've got a set of those on my motor.

I used an E34 Euro resonator section mated to an Eberspacher (OEM that I had around) muffler out back.

Straight pipes all the way back might just be loud enough to drive you insane.

I currently have the shorty headers (uninstalled) from IE with the down pipes. I have the IE cat back exhaust, which is only a couple years old and in good condish. However, the catvert is drumming up a bit and trying to decide if I should just ditch the catvert and have a straight pipe going back?

I guess it would be headers to down pipes, to Y connect, to Straight Pipe, to Y connect, to IE catback exhaust.

Any suggestions? I am new to this. If the down pipes or 2"OD, what direction should I head with the straight pipe regarding size, 2.5 maybe 3?

              Let me know, thanks

              Justin

WORD OF CAUTION: i had an m20 with stock exhaust manifold and straight pipes. very loud! couldn't drive more than 20-40 miles without it getting on my nerves. had to drown it out with the radio. very cool at first but in time it's just annoying. i'd reccomend that at first you just get some pipes and put it up. don't worry about what it looks like cause you may want to get rid of it after the first month. if you decide to keep it then invest in something that looks nice. just a thought

depends on how much you want to spend. The hottuning ones are a copy of the BTB manifolds made in the UK. They are pretty good in terms of both increases and the quality of the product. Got a lot of feedback on e30zone.

Thats because they have individual flanges. And quality control on these is sub par. I had to oblong the holes in my #5 flange for mine to fit.

I've got a set of original Hartge long-tube headers. I had a custom exhaust put together by the guys at DENT Sport Garage in Norwood, MA.

I wanted a single exhaust line, so we installed a 2-into-1 collector behind the headers to bring everything into a single 2.25" pipe. Then we installed a metal-core race cat and went straight out into a Magnaflow muffler. It was still a little too loud, so we installed a "cherry bomb" style muffler as a resonator just behind the cat.

Now the system sounds terrific. Deep and bassy. Not too loud. No drone at highway speeds.
