So, a few months back my buddy Yusif ("frozensolid" on the forum) calls me up and tells me he's done "something" to his stock e30 that I had to see. A few days later he pulls in-in his newly boosted e30 and takes me for a spin. I wasn't expecting what was to come, calling it scary is an understatement. That first 3rd gear pull almost spilled my guts. By the time he dropped me off, I had VOWED to buy an e30 and boost it. Surely enough, two weeks later I had a '91 325ic sitting in the driveway.
Not long after that, I took the car (engine with 180k and not driven for a year) for a hard cold spin and destroyed the engine. Broke an exhaust valve and badly damaged a piston, just the excuse I was looking for! A few days later me and Yusif drove up to NJ and hauled back a 2.7 stroker which we bought off a member on the forum. Calling it a "build" is kind of cheap, it was more like a swap. We didn't have the luxury of a heated garage so we worked outside in the driveway. In the winter months, temperatures dipped below zero and at one point I literally almost froze my nads. Some nights we had to light wood to keep from freezing, cave man style but it did the job.
I know you guys like a lot of, and good quality pix so I took a few, crappy ones for you. However, I did record everything on tape with an HD camera. Several months worth of (intermittent) work all in 3 mins. Enjoy.
