    Turbocharging an M40

Wanna build a turbo car currently have an m40,
I haven't seen many people turbocharging them and I thought it would be nice to do something different because in essence the m40 is closely related to the m42 which is an engine that everyone likes working on.
Now take this into into account im only 19 so I can only afford to do a bolt on turbo job.
How much psi can my engine/computors handle without going all spastic?
What size injectors should i use? is the stock ecu good enough (probably not)? How much power would I be looking at after its all done if im running 7psi?
and I recently put it on the dyno and it made only 80rwhp which isn't impressive but it does need a big service which is gonna happen very soon.

    mmm.... not.

the M40 and M42 share very few components (Engine mount place, tansmission mounting point, water pump, oil sump and that about it)

i had a M40B16, now im with M42B18, the engine is completely different.

off course it doesnt make the M40 a bad candidate for turbo charging, but just an FYI.

Just cause you are 19 shouldn't stop you from doing anything. I am only 21, and I dove into the turbo world when I was 17 making chump change working at a retail store.

The m40 is basically an updated m20 without 2 cylinders, and it runs almost exactly the same ECU (Motronic 1.3).

      Do some searching on e30tech.com.
