I just found a 89 M50b35 and im wanting to build a 12-14psi engine for an e30. I had planed out the build on a b25 and now wondering what is involved in running this new motor with boost.

I was told by someone who isnt familiar with bimmers that it was an m50...its outta town so i havent driven to check it out my self but i was leaning towards it being an m30 also.If you havent seen the future your not driving fast enough...... thats why we have turbos.Comment

I don't think any m/s 5X series motor came with a 3.5, but i might be wrong.M42: Because 110 feels like 140 :finger:Comment

M50 went into prodcution in 1991. So an 89 motor will be an M30 or M20. M20 have never been built with a 3.5 l capasity. Also BMW largest M5x was the S50B32. Alpina built a 3.3 but no 3.5's have been built.Comment
