#42 on motronic can be done but not on the standard begi FMU and timing retard chip setup. You need to have a tune specifically designed for the larger injectors (shorter pulse width). The good thing is you don't have to use a begi. The bad is you would probably need a custom tune which would cost as much as a MS unit unless you have a hook up or can hook yourself up. In the end i say go with what you are comfortable with. Everyone will swear by their own setup if they stuck it out and got it running properly.
And as far as the stock fuel pump i can only speak for my early model pump. It kicks ass even with a crapped out in tank pump. 1 bar and i still have afr's of 11 at 7k rpm.

I've heard the same. You won't be able to get a good idle tune with 42# injectors is what I've heard.
I'm sure one could always go 30# w/ a water/meth kit if they desired. Snow Performance makes a nice controller that runs off of the MAF signal.Leave a comment:

I don't think you can run 42# injectors on Motronic, even with tuning. 30# or so seems to be about the limit.Leave a comment:

I'm not good with Elc. shit and this is awsome

So if i run 12lbs with 42lb injectors and a walbro 255 in tank fuel pump that would get the job done? Would i need the walbro pump or can i use OEM pump? I heard the OEM can handle round 350 to 400 HP from maxamillion motorsports, but he has been rong on a lot of shit so far. So i dont deal with him anymore! Its funny because he told me that i could only boost 8lbs with a thicker headgasket, Which is shitty because once i started reading i found you could boost the shit out of an m20 with stock headgasket, only with a good tune which deff.. requires MS or VEMS.
It just goes to show people who think they know just beacause they run a german import shop dont have a clue.
Cant wait till she running wish i could post picks, but i running no charge on a phone line slow as shit.Leave a comment:

RRFPR or FPR or NONE
If your running stand alone and 12psi with 42# injectors do you need a RRFPR or just a FPR or even one at all????Leave a comment:

I know what you mean by the elc shit i not looking forward to it, but i got a buddy thats tunned so many atand alone systems most being MS, that and he has all the software for all so i get it tunned great for zero green. But i am also woundering, i have read a lot about the W.A.R chip and i think it can only handle so much. I am looking for about 350hp at about 12-15psi with 36-42lb injectors. So my question is Whats are you running?I have a Miller Performance WAR chip w/ MAF

Does anyone know about the VEMS stand alone system, and if its any good? I was looking at the DIYautotune, just wanted to do a lot of research before choosing. I want to know if VEMS is easier to tune or if there the same tunning wise, and just what would be the better rout?
Also when in the process of tunning i want to try and do it myself, and so does it matter if the car is under a load while tunning? eventually I am going to dyno it but just thought i would see what i could do. I know a lasting turbo M20 is all about the tune so that is my focus. As far as stand alone i have a good amount of funds, want the best bang for the buck but dont wanna be robbed either.
Thanks for any infoTags: None
