    Buying a turbo..?

i'm starting to collect parts for a turbo build, i'm planning on doing this to my m20b23, so far i've replaced bearings and rings on my already low milage engine and i've got the arp head studs, cometic hg and the intercooler. Now i want to get the turbo. I was thinking a used garret but don't know what size, people say gt35 is great but there arn't many used ones up for sale and if i buy new they're won't be cheap. I was also thinking about getting a used garret t3 from an r33 skyline or I can use my Mitsubishi TC05-12A (same turbo Schnitzer318is is running on his m42 turbo) that I have sitting on my dressing table but i think it's too small and it's only oil cooled.
My plan is to run it between 10-12 psi with the Miller W.A.R chip and Maf and hoping to get at least 270whp

for something around 270whp on an m20 running that amount of boost this turbo would work great.

its not that expensive for a brand new one which gives you the security of running a new one and not having to worry about a used one.

a garrett gt35 would be a little big. Those are usually used for a car pushing 400+ hp.

Thanks for that link swifte30 seems like something im after and pretty good price for something that is brand new. Does it matter having a non-water cooled turbo?

Wouldn't touch an old TC05-12A with a barge pole.

        A TD-05H 16g off a DOHC 4G63 (EVO 1-3) would be a better option,
or even a later TD-05HR off an EVO 4+ which have twin scroll T.hsg's.
Both of these are quite under rated in their performance & reliability.

Also, with you being in OZ, there is quite market of RB-25det (R33) turbo's going around,
Although the old ceramic turbine wheels do like to fall off...

Bear in mind, the early evo's and R33 for that matter would only make upto 270rwhp on their native turbo's at 12psi, so an M20B23 sure as hell won't I'm afraid.

This question has been posted up for quite a while and since then few things have change first thing is the motor has now become an 2.7 "stroker" as you all like to call it and is undergoing a refresh with new bearings, rings and all seals gaskets etc. Also I'm now on the hunt for a t3/4 with an external gate they hybrid turbos are very popular down here especially on our Australian Holden VL commodore which is an Nissan rb30 powered sedan that is well loved down here and are the biggest cop magnets on the street aswell as being a potential drag monster.
And the Mitsubishi turbo tc05 turbo I have is tiny and was given to me for free in good condition I just don't know what to do with it I'd hate to put it to waste maybe I should bolt it onto a 4 stroke dirt bike if thats possible
