    m50 nv turbo internals?

what internals should be upgraded for turbo. I found a lot of m50 vanos writeups but not non vanos and as for compression thicker mls ?? what size .140? as for internals should rods be the main culprit?
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

    Trust me it stock

All depends on your goals. How much hp do you plan to make?

Ecu is the most important. Megasquirt is what a lot of the non vanos guys use.
Thicker .140 mls gasket will help drop compression. And rods tend to let go when you start hitting 450whp+

IIRC the NV M50 has far beefier rods that the Vanos M50.

Definitely ECU and a good (reliable) tune to get longevity out of it.
If you have the option of running on ethanol (e85 etc...) then a thicker HG/comp. drop may not be req'd, other than as a maintenance item, along with a good tune & injectors of course.

            Worth a read here:

Think he did go with a MLS HG + ARP Studs, and runs 17psi.....

If by Beefier you mean heavier then yes.

Dont think they are any stronger. Upgrade to S50 rods on the cheap if you want. Lighter and stronger.

NV motors run VR sensors for the cam (secondary sync)....Dont know if MS can handle that. But I think the Halls from TU motors bolt right in...
Honestly your best best is to switch to M50TU managemnt. Going anything other then MS3 would be a downgrade from the stock EMS.
With the m50tu, you can run a maf that is not near its limits or a bigger maf in general. Also you have many options to choose from in tuning, from WAR, to TRM, AA, TT, etc...

All you need is M50tu ECU, harness, cam sync, and tooth wheel. Can probably score at yard for under a bill. May need EWS delete but there are good write-ups online.
