    nitrous

since i dont have nearly the budget to do a proper turbo build
i was considering putting a 75 ish shot of nitrous on my car.

prior to the build i would replace the head gasket/timing belt/guides, do a mild port and polish to the head, 19lb injectors, get a jim conf or other chip and possibly a shrick cam and springs.

i figure it would easily be able to handle 75 shot and maybe even 100 for quite awhile (plan on going just a push button not full throttle button)

    anyone have any input?
i havent seen alot of e30's using nitrous

but its definately broke and not able to afford a decent turbo setup.

i would have to go rrfpr because i cant afford a computer(not that there's anyone within 300 miles that could tune it). and that i def will not do

Don't get the push button style. Can you trust yourself to only push it within the correct RPM range? Push it too soon and you could have some issues. Also, only run a Wet setup. Nitrous will be more expensive in the long run though. You will get addicted to it, and have to refill your bottle often. Bottle refills add up.

I've seen a guy turbo his stock m20b23 for $800 and managed to 13 seconds down the 1/4mile.
If your planning to get a cam, chip, port polish and valve springs. You may aswell get yourself a Volvo t30 turbo an eBay manifold and eBay ic and piping for that price. Then run low boost using stock headbolts, fuel pump and hg. The more costly parts would be a pnp ms2 box from whodwho and a HD clutch.
Even though this is a cheap setup it'll also make 250whp reliably day in day out. Not every now and then.

my whole problem is i have no way to tune a megasquirt. I live 2-300+ miles from the nearest tuner.

thats only reason why i was thinking of going nitrous. i would have to trailer my car 300 miles then pay for the tune.

I would love to go turbo but cant throw the initial cost.

Get on a mustang forum, they know their nitrous.
I know a local guy who sprays on every car he races, push button on his steering wheels.

Everyone cries about the negatives of NOS, but I rather be able to DD my car like a normal person, but turn on the bottle warmer when a wrx pulls up and have the power to smash him, instead of dealing with a turbo.

But remember this is r3v, most of us talk like we know everything and know nothing, so research for yourself and make a choice. I bet you won't do it...most people who ask this shit don't end up following through.

Well if you iron out the bumps at the start, I don't see why you couldn't daily drive a low boosted e30 if you did the job right. If you could build a setup similar to what Jordan did in his writeup posted on e30tech and maybe add megasquirt you could have a car that would be fun and reliable. EVERYDAY!!! :D
A lot of guys who deal with megasquirt never got a tuner to tune their cars. Tchao for example didn't know shit about ms before he purchased his ms box. He just read the mega manual over and over. Now his car is pushing 395whp iirc.
Also have a look at the w.a.r chip. Brody from Miller could send you a 10psi base tune and all you'll have to do is alter it to fit.

                              100% cheaper than turbo!

all you need is the nitruos kit and put on MLS head gasket for safety

and you're already have a bigger injectors and chip + try to get RRFPR and do have a good tune

I've tried this out same as you thinking now, stock cam, stock gasket, and it was alot of fun + you'll not spray all the time >> so its safe if you tuned it well

But now I switched to turbo :)
