    IE Turbo system.

    or

Any experience with these complete setups? Reliable quality stuff or am I better off to build my own system? looking for a reliable m20 turbo, not ridiculous power but a very solid 230-260 mark. Also how will the drivetrain hold up? 1990 325is

    thanks in advance

I'm not a turbo guy, but your better off getting a 666 manifold and sourcing everything yourself.

Ok cool. If its done right would you question the reliability and daily driver capabilities?

You could probably build your own kit for a bit cheaper, but sometimes its nice when everything is in one nice package, ready to go, no fitment experimentation or fabricating to make it fit (and it usually never fits like you want it to). It really depends on how deep your wallet is, and if you want something that has been tested, and from a tuning aspect has been seen so its pretty predictable in terms of getting it tuned on a healthy m20. I have been looking into turboing my m20 myself and have been eyeballing their kits.

yeah exactly what I was thinking. Plus I really like the look of there exhaust manifold in the effort of keeping it as clean as possible, not to bash on the 666 manifold which seems pretty good too. I'm going to call and see what they have to say about there setup. Also I figure I'm going to end up spending that much anyways and if its a nice kit I say its worth it.

That's not even an IE kit. TCD are the guys who make that kit. I always thought the price of their kits a bit too steep considering it doesn't come with proper tuning or intercooling. They use a cast manifold which never looks or flows as well as a 666 or revshift tubular and being a bottom mount your gonna find a bit harder to run a turbo oil drain from that low of a spot. Another thing I don't like about this kit is they use a water to air intercooler which makes things more complex for no reason when you could run a regular front mount a probably get cooler charge temperatures.
I'd build my own kit and with that money saved spend it on a standalone. A good tune will make your engine run right and get more power. Instead of blowing head gaskets with the rrfpr and chip that tcd offer.

Nothing beats the Revshift twin scroll adapter with an HX35 sitting on top.

I say build the kit yourself. You will save a lot of money, learn a whole lot, and be very proud of your accomplishment when it is complete.

The thing about the TCD cast manifold is that cast manifolds are strong and long lasting. Want something to outlast your car? Go cast.

awesome thanks for the info guys very helpful

So the preferred twin scroll manifold is defiantly the way to go. Also defiantly deciding on building the kit myself, sounds very gratifying and will yield better results. looks like I have a lot of research to start. 8)

Check out my build thread for a modified twist on the TCD kit.
