m20 turbo! FO FREEE!

hi all, this my first time posting on this forum, i dont know why i have not earlier becuase everyone seems to know there shit. I am turboing a m20. the turbo is a Ko3. My buddy gave me one for free of his audi a4 turbo,they are in great shape. I have been doing some research on all types of websites but am stuggling to find any real info on this idea(not to great with forums). I am posting this thread to see if anyone has done this or knows someone who did this that could just tell me any little facts or if they thought it was worth it. Also if they found it cheaper to piece it together rather then buy all. Btw i am a noob to the turbo game, so i will be learning as i go!

If your gonna go through the hassle of turboing, I'd use something bigger than a ko3. There's ton of info here about what your looking to do, just gotta search. Cost wise the turbo is about 10% of the total cost, I'm finding it cheaper to piece together than buy a kit.

I'm no turbo expert either, but I'm pretty sure the ko3 only flows enough for about 200hp. Its a very very small turbo, I think the compressor wheel is 44mm or something like that. Its not even worth it at that point. Here's a few compressor maps I found.

ya iv kept on looking and i am finding thta it seems to be rather pointless to put such a small turbo on to my car. I guess i start to look into finding a good reasonable turbo.

Keep the turbo. You might want to turbo a bike someday (streetbike)

From what i've seen they are perfect for a twin turbo install. Was done a few years back. I'll take it off your hand if you decide to toss it. I have a motorcycle that could use it.
