Ok so my current problem is I am not able to make good boost. When I purchased the car a year ago it was already boosted and spooled awesome and was set for 5 psi. I went through some ups and downs and had to take the kit off. I went through and refreshed the kit by having my BEGI FMU rebuilt, new oil feed and return, new gaskets, newer slightly used off brand turbo and new vacuum lines, and some now intercooler piping. Now that i put the kit all back together the same way it used to be but has a, minus a different turbo, its not spooling good. I can barley get it to reach 1 psi. I have a very few times get it to reach 5psi but thats in 3rd gear pinned. All intercooler piping is tight, no leaks, everything is bolted on tight. It is a internal wastegate. I have the bov closed all the way so it cant let any air out just to make sure its not leaking through there. Also when i do get it to build the small boost it does not make the bov sound, even with the spring not tightened all the way tight. Any ideas as to what could be keeping me from making boost? It does not even feel like it is hardly in boost at all. Very depressing. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

No leaks from what I can tell. I have not pressure tested this. How should I go about doing a pressure test? And the turbo I have on there dosent even sound like it is spooling up compared to my other one. Im trying to get my hands on another one also to test this. Thanks for the quick reply!

I was also thinking my wastegate might not be closing all the way but i have it as tight as i can possibly get it. Im trying to pick up a spare turbo by this weekend so i can throw a good one on there. I might be getting a t3 from a nissian to try out. Do you have any opinion on the cx racing ones? Are they any good? I know they are cheap and I am on a budget right now so Im trying to make sure i get it right without wasting money.

Simple way i checked for boost leaks between intake piping and turbo.
Purchased pvc pipe "caps" dont remember which size, just know they fit inside my intake boot and other side on the turbo, clamped em down tight (be sure they are tight or they will explode off and possibly hit you in the face...yes first hand experience)
What i did was in one of them drilled a small hole, i then took the valve off a bicycle tube and screwed it into the drilled hole in one of the caps, then used a pump to pressurize the system and some soapy water in a spray bottle to find leaks.
