Does supercharging requre low compression like turbos?

    Hi everyone,

Silly question, but I noticed a lot of aftermarket superchargers work with 10:1 compression.

    Thanks,

-Dependes on how much boost. But, in general, yes.

the superchargers running on the 10:1 CR are going to stage 1 kits, and will have no aftercooler and will run generally for BMW kits 5.5psi.

if you want to upgrade the boost to say 9 or 10 with a new belt then yes you want to definity lower your CR, probly to 8.8:1

Any boost will bump up your compression ratio

Try to learn how it works before you do it

yeah definitly read up on it.

a supercharger and turbo are the same thing, just one runs on exhaust(turbo) and the other on belts(s'charger) in order to created the compressed air for boost.

Keep in mind the m20 doesn't have knock sensors like all modern engines. I doubt a stock m20 will cope with more then 5-7psi.

I've seen a stock m20 shatter pistons at 12psi SC.

it's been proved that stock m20's are capapble of handling arround 1 BAR (14-15PSI) with out major problems, tuning is the KEY

^^^ it really is all about the tuning.. u can run 11.1 CR with a supercharger with a nice aftercooler such as meth/water injection or u can go all meth.. and theres a lil trick with em methanol injection. besides that it can cool the charge (pending the setup) up to 200 degree F instantly, it raises ur octane. very safe and prooven

screw good tuning if you are turbo'ing an m20. the motor only costs 200 for a bottom end. just buy one or two spare blocks and a spare head and boost 14psi daily.:D

                          LOL.

Why are you making out with mozilla firefox?

                          IE needs some love too.

                            haha

I know I really don't mind the IE anymore, but I used to absolutely HATE it!

I thought the making out part was still appropiate since i still like some of the "features" mozilla has.

maybe I'll look for one with making out with IE, then that'll really mess with some peoples minds.
