ar design shop E30 build thread - 2013 Edition!

Yep! Shop E30 has been under the knife, building an entirely new setup. 709whp was not nearly enough. We'll be posting progress and pics in this thread. Feel free to ask questions :):buttrock

    Manifold in progress....

New 1.5" Long-Tube Manifold, on our mockup engine, with a temporary 72mm turbo.

Cutting head apart... We are working on quite a bit of port development for the 24V heads. We may release said port in CNC form this year.

    Weldon FPR. Yum!

    New billet turbo lands....

New intercooler setup. Decided to get rid of the air water. This new 4.5" thick core is no joke......

I love the stuff you guys put out :p

What reasoning for the long tube manifold?
I always thought shortest is best to keep temperatures up = higher velocity to the turbine. It looks so wicked though!

That is some crazy fab work on the headers!! are you using stainless?

EDIT: What tig welder do you guys use? I have a Lincoln Squarewave 175, I need to do some aluminum work but I am not sure if it could handle 1/8" aluminum.
