    clutchmasters fx400?

Building a turbo m20 for 300-400 hp and I'm looking at clutches.. wondering if anyone has had success with the clutchmasters.

I'm thinking the fx400 its the same price as the 200&300 plus it sounds like what I'm looking for(drift track car) would go with the 600 but that's outa my price range.

Thankyou any feedback would be great!

I have one. Don't really like it to much, but that may because i daily the car. I wouldn't use the throw out bearing they provide with it get one from Pelican or something, because mines already making noise and its only been about 15k max on it.

I would suggest looking into the UUC M5 clutch set up they have for the M20 was talking to Rob a bit back after i got my clutch and it sounds like a better set up to me. Once i toast this one i will be going that direction.

Does it perform well though? Mine is a dedicated track car and I'm just looking for something that isn't going to slip when I get to the 400hp range. I appreciate the heads up but do you think you would like it if it was in a track car and you never had to daily it?

I went went a different route then most cause people rape on m20 setups. I got a trashed e36 light weight flywheel and had a new surface installed. Mated it to a grip force stage 3 clutch kit, and paired it with an m50 starter which is the cats meow when it comes to ease of installation since the starter is threaded. Ended up costing me about the same as just a good m20 clutch.

That looks like a great setup^

I already have a m50 starter just would need to find a nice flywheel I guess. Thanks for the info I appreciate it. How well does that setup hold on your turbo m20 and how much power are you making?

fx400 is nice. I beat on my turbo car hard, Made 500hp and close to 400ftlbs and it never slipped. Its jumpy and a little anoying for a dd set up but you get use to it.

Ya they are fairly good quality. A friend of mine is also running an fx400 in his evo. at 330wheel with no problems.

That's all I'm worried about, going to be around 300whp now with a stock 2.5 but this summer/fall I'm building a seta stroker for 400whp.

I really appreciate all the feedback!
