    pitting in cylinder head

Well some of you might remember I bought a e30 m20 turbo. Im replacing the blown head gasket which seems to be a recurring issue by reading the previous owners posts on another forum . The block is o-ringed and I was noticing on the cylinder head some pitting around where the fire ring would be. When I resurfaced the head shop didnt seem concerned about it. Was wondering what you all thought?? I tried to upload some pics but was having issues doing so...but any advice would be appreciated. Gonna try to get some pics uploaded by tomorrow.

Hey guys here are the pics I promised. Maybe im a little over cautious but thought it would be worth checking with you guys. . By the way the pitting is only where the gasket was pushed up on cylinder 2, 3, 4

Have you checked if a new HG covers that area? If it does I probably wouldn't worry too much, but you could always take the head to a machine shop and see what they say.

I don't think it should/would cost too much too fill weld and resurface the head.... Then again every machine shop is different so I could be wrong.

Yeah the HG does cover the area. I'll ask the Head Shop how much they would charge to weld..Thanks.
