    Water Cooled Turbo

    Hi there,
Ive recently purchased myself a garret 35r that is water cooled to put on my m20 with an 885 head, Ive researched alot as to where to get water from for it, and alot of people say the TB hoses.

But because im running a 318i integrated reservoir I have already Put a Tee off to the reservoir from the coolant line running from the underside of the Thermostat to the back off the block. Now my question is if I was to take the the line from back of the block and run that into my turbo and then return back into the Thermostat, where might I be able to Tee into the lines somewhere to get water to the bottom of the Radiator reservoir?

Or if theres another spot I could drill and tap for water lines to the turbo, Id love to know and go down that Route.

    Cheers

There's another place, which is the pressure relief for the heater core--I believe the the early cars had it as a recall, but it basically is a tee to bypass the heater core when it isn't being used. You have flow in the right direction and the hose sizes are pretty much the right size already.

As I understand, since the coolant system is pressurized it's a bit different from simply tapping for oil and having it drain to the pan. I'm sure someone will correct me if my thinking is incorrect.

Im not sure if your referring to a spot I could hook my reservoir up to or a place for the turbo water lines? Either way I should also mention that this is in a fully stripped out track car so there is nothing heater related items left in.

For the turbo water lines... in and out. There is a pressure relief line that was added as a recall to early models, and I believe was there for late models. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=196347 check out post #3.

It is inside the engine bay, under the intake manifold and next to the firewall, and is probably about 10mm OD, but it's been a while since I've seen it. Unless you removed the lines running to and from the heater core, it should still be there.
