24v turbo oil pan drain line

First time turboing an E30, took me a while to find the 528i oil pan, and im ready to tap it for the turbo drain line, is there a common spot that people do it? and what do most people use. i dont want to drill a hole in the wrong spot and wreck it

Ive had experience with VW turbos and ive purchased pans with turbo drain bungs already welded on.

Just bring it to your favorite mechanic and have them put a plug in it til youre ready to put it all together. Its kind of a bitch to do yourself!

I would be my own favorite mechanic =]. im just looking for the most common location. my guess is ill bolt on a 45 degree AN fitting

I think anywhere is fine, the turbo build guide on e30tech shows a good location. Just make sure its not in the way of the bolts

Wherever that will make the line as vertical as possible, high as possible on the pan, and away from the bolts that are required to remove the pan.
