    E85 - Fuel lines - Pumps - Boost

Not sure how many have ran e85/boost on turbo m20's. Here is my train of thought, lets sort it out. Additional info: expecting 450hp +/- 50hp at wheels. Siemens 80lbs injectors.

    FUEL PUMPS

    Option #1
    1. Fuel source 17 gallon RCI fuel cell
    2. Wally 255 to feed surge tank
    3. Wally 450 intank pump in surge tank to feed the rail

    Option #2
    1. Fuel source 17 gallon RCI fuel cell
    2. RCI in tank fuel pickups (2-4)
    3. Ran to parallel Bosch 044 pumps to the rail

    Fuel Line

    Option #1
    1. Stock lines with soft lines connection to pumps and rails

    Option #2
    1. Use stock feed line as "new return"
    2. make 6AN line for the "new feed"
    3. (Thoughts for this are due to 30-40% additional fuel needed)

    What do you guys think?

Remember, the new lines can't be rubber due to the ethanol. I'll be replacing all my stock hard lines with 3/8" stainless and my soft lines are -8 AN (PTFE).

If you can, look at the Fuelab pumps, about as much as dual 044's for a single that flows over 500 GPH.

Deff do not run stock rubber lines with E85.
Most track guys run a surge tank feeding twin 044's or a large single pump.

80lbs injectors will be close to 100% duty cycle with E85 & 500hp.
      I would suggest 1000lbs injectors.

Fuel cell foam must be E85 compatible, or remove it if it's legal at your track.

yeah I'm aware I can't use standard rubber fuel line, should have clarified that in my OP.

I am really leaning towards the surge tank setup with one large HP pump and a 255 feeding the surge tank. I just feel like going through all the work of setting up a system and not have the surge tank will bight me in the ass. I'll have to look at the injectors again, I ran some calcs and I didn't think it was that high.

Better to have some head room, I was running 850# and overheated them during a pull, once cooled down they started working again. Switched to 1000# to be safe.

              I stumbled across these.

              Bosch 1000cc Injectors

While ID1000 are probably the top dog, you can't knock Bosch and in my current situation these would fit my budget a lot better.

I agree, ID1000 are mucho dinero.

I'm running similar injectors to those Bosch ones. They have great idle resolution.

So.....collecting fuel system parts, I'm reading that 044's are't good with e85, manufacturer says it's not compatible. Although I have read several threads of people doing it and it working fine. I was thinking about running parallel Walbro 255's instead. That seems to be what a lot of the FI domestic guys are doing with a lot of success.

                    Thoughts?

Interesting, I've been running the same 044's with E85 for 5+years now without issues.
Do you plan on running both pumps at all times..?

That's interesting you say that because I've seen several other say the same thing. All I know is the "manufacturer" says its not compatible. As far as running at the same time maybe, I don't want to starve the motor. Maybe you can chime in, for 400hp on e85 in a turbo m20 what would you recommend for fuel supply?

What I decided to go with for the fuel pump.

                          AEM 380lph

Will probably just save and get the id1000 injectors as well.

Hey I like the choice in pump specifically because it has the same dimensions as an 044.
Ill be using the surge tank below, due to seeing it work incredibly well on an m30 turbo setup that pushes 500+

                            034 surgetank
