Does anyone know the boost figures or have a good resource for the boost figures on the M62? I'm thinking of using one in a sort of "stage 1" build to set the car up before hopefully fulfilling my ambition of a twin screw supercharged M20.
To be specific, how much boost is the blower rated to give at "X" RPM? I know the blower is rated for a max sustained rpm of 14k. I understand it basically displaces about 1 liter per rev. But I dont know the math nor can I find the resource I want to tell me approximately how much boost I'm looking at.
The M62 is being chosen over the M90 because in my area there seem to be an abundance of them cheap as of now, the blower is small and easy to work with, and I plan to use this as an experimental platform for future builds. I want to stroke my B25 to a B27 for this blower. I also plan to have the car rev out to 7k, which im guessing with the proper pulley, should just touch the M62s recommended limit of 14k.
This is still in planning right now as I have other things to attend to on the car first, like ignition rebuild and a tranny swap, and mild suspension upgrades (why dump power at a car that cant fully use it?). So feel free to brainstorm. I dont want to spend hella money on the motor build for this stage, but I know to stroke it cheaply and fabricate the mounting for the blower and do the tuning its gonna be from 2-3 grand in total. There are no designated power goals. I want a ball park estimate on boost figures so I can see where I'll stand. I aim to make a linear enhancement to a 2.7L M20 stroker, that is all.
