Frozen in place due to choice overload. Turbo choice.

See back in the day it was easy...before forums, before vast knowledge of the internet, you modified your car based on what you knew, not knowing what you didnt know. Ignorance was bliss.

Now-a-days, here i am trying to pick the right turbocharger for a mild 350hp, street driven 325ix that will give me good response without choking the top end and the information overload is paralyzing.

To the point where a few times i've spent a few hours coming to a conclusion only to second guess myself from some information i've come across.

So here's my question. I do not want a peaky, top end dyno queen. That eliminates 80% of the turbochargers people run today. I mean seriously, Holsets and T4's on 2.5L I6's? I can see how that progressed. Always easier to go a bit bigger in case of "making more hp down the road" has led to such large turbos fitted today.

Kamotors has experienced this and actually "downgraded" to a smaller turbo.

With all that being said, i'm looking for that balance between ebay turbos and 1500 Precision stuff.

What would you guys say to this? A Super 20G from Hahn Racecraft?

    Still too big?

20g is what you need, or any kind of gtx28.

Borg Warner S256sx is what I'm running, $850 with a ceramic coated turbine housing. I'm seeing 10lbs by low 3k rpm and it pulls hard. Love the turbo so far and would reccomend to others!

Then went back to a big turbo because they are wicked fun.
20g seemed like a good balance, do not get an ebay turbo they are very hit and miss at the risk of your engine.

He did? I stopped following his thread when he switched to M30 and was having a whole bunch of headaches....

See, that Super 20G looked awesome, yet SRT guys are saying its an outdated design, laggy for its output, blah blah blah.

I might just say screw it and get the Kinugawa 20G.

It just sucks on the exhange rate....its killing me right now. lol

Oh, did i mention i want to keep it Internally gated?
