    Early Model Fuel System Upgrade

To the guys running higher hp in early model cars - what's your fueling setup?

Need to feed about 400hp or so, and I'm having trouble finding the best setup with the two-pump system the early model has.

For example - I have a Walbro 255 lift pump.. Do I use an OEM main pump or match the in-tank with a 255lph main pump (exterior/in-line pump)? Or something else entirely?

    Early models do it better.

Replace the main pump, and delete the in line pump if using pump gas.

I've heard from several people that this causes fuel starvation below half a tank - are they doing it wrong?

          Such as this?:

FP34 - Assembled & Unassembled Kits BACKORDERED: Orders placed today will hold your spot in line for the next available units, Mid August 2025 ETA 034Motorsport is proud to offer the FP34 - the most advanced Bosch 044 fuel pump installation solution available. This beautifully-designed surge tank fully encloses a Bosch 044 fuel pump inside a 1 liter reservoir, and allows for flexible mounting location while ensuring optimal flow. PLEASE NOTE: FP34 Fitting Kits (AN or Nipple Connection) are available separately below. An extra steel M12 adapter is included to account for discrepancies in aftermarket pump lengths. Use the adapter that best works for your pump length to allow a proper fit in the FP34 housing.

The surge tank would take place of the factory main pump (in-line) and you would be able to run the factory lift/transfer pump?
