e30 turbo bumper/valance question

    e30 turbo bumper/valance question

    i have a 85 e30 with the metal lower valance. i cant fit my intercooler without cutting the valance up and hanging it outside the bumper. id rather keep it low key so my question is are there any lower valances that come out flat/perpendicular to the ground instead of folding back towards the wheel arches? or that could be trimmed up to look nicer than a cut metal lower valance? i was looking at possibly the BBS front valance or IS valance.

    anyway i thought id ask the all mighty e30 gods for some help on this one. any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Why not mount it behind the grills? How big of an intercooler are you trying to fit? I fit mine behind the grills, decreasing the amount of piping, and only having to cut the valence part that gets covered by the front bumper or the metal bumper in your case....super stealthy

        Cowcatcher IS would let you fit a big sized one.
        Late model valance conversion will also allow you to fit one with some patient sectioningto look OEM.
        Or, behind the grilles if you're not using AC.

          Im behind the grill.....and using a/c.....had to notch the core support though!

                  im running a turbo 5.0 with a/c so i have very little extra room. i want it behind the bumper thats why i asked if any other lower valances come out any farther. i figured the later model IS would be the best. also i have a huge rad and intercooler to deal with phoenix temps.

                    I am running an M20 turbo. A/C is still intact, sans auxiliary fan so it isn't efficient but that is besides the point. I placed the intercooler behind the kidney grilles and I get a lot of compliments on how the car is a sleeper. Infact, most people think it is stock until they hear the turbo spool. lol The piping can be modified to fit if you trim the headlight brackets as well as the front core support (there are two "arms"/brackets behind it that can be taken off).

                    Scroll near the bottom and you will see my setup:
                    1989 325i - 2.7i, Holset H1C, 60lb injectors, whodwho MS-PNP.
