im not sure what they are called but if i had to guess i would say they are dish, something kinda like a bowl, i base my opinion solely on seeing pictures of VAC Motorsports Turbo and S/C pistons, check them out

you didnt realyl specifed for that engine. I suppose it is similar story in all engines. the only way to maintain squish (squench ?) band is to leave the suench ring onthe piston and remove material from the centre (to reduce compression). you will notice that high performance NA pistons still have the squench ring thile centre of the piston is actually elevated, protruding into combustion chanber often closely matched to the combustion chamber shape - EG. m10 'piano top' piston.
