Don't want to rebuild the engine...

I have not been looking into turbos for very long, but recently my interest has peaked with friends cars. I'm curious about installing a simple set-up on my car this winter while it's sitting. My biggest concern right now is whether or not I would need to upgrade my engine first. It seems in every project and thread I read, the owners are installing aftermarket pistons, cams, injectors, etc. I'm not looking for an increase of 250hp, in fact I don't plan on running more than 5-6 psi. To be honest, my biggest motivation for the install would be the sound.

My engine is a completely stock Super Eta m20b27.

    Thanks.

Really to get the most out of it, you would need to install the i head, a full standalone, turbo, manifold, IC, bigger injectors, 3in exhaust and the works. It really adds up quick. I don't even know how much I have into mine anymore..

for running up to about 8 psi, you might get away without standalone. just bigger injectors, fmu will handle 8psi. i'd stongly recommend putting and 'i' head on your super eta bottom and then ecu from 325i and then you can get turbo chips for these, that would do a good job for 8 psi. that should get you upwards of 250bhp. possibly 300bhp vicinity. how much it costs depends on how much can you do youself. you are looking for few thou's anyways.... if you do alot youeself and use secondhand parts it might be 2 thous, otherwise it might run further...
