So convince me - why is knowing vacume important?

So I'm working on a econmeter-to-boost gauge conversion. Here is a teaser.

So my question to you is this: Why is knowing not just boost, but also vacuum when tuning or running a turbo important?

Keep in mind, I understand Mega Squirt/tuning peaty well (or I'd like to think I do), so don't be afraid to give me a complex answer to a simple question.

    Thanks.

well....you can tune a car at idle based solely on vacuum....

i would say for me its more of a troubleshooter, it helps to know maybe a boost instigated intake leak somewhere.

keeps a check on how healthy the engine is...its not absolutely necessary but its nice to have and it makes the gauge move more than plain boost haha

If thats real accurate I will pick one up. Im budgeting out turbo stuff over the winter, and trying to keep gauges on the short side..

lol ironic that you make that, when i had my first bmw someone that rode with me asked me if it was a boost gauge. this is like 4 years ago or something
