ebay kits are garbage unless you go with 666 fab adapters or cast iron turbo manifolds
the kit i got cracked while i was installing it on my car.........pissed me off......so i went with a m52 turbo setup and cant wait 2 put it together........500whp=goal

With your level of experience, $2000 for a turbo setup is not a realistic goal. Things add up crazy fast, even if you are going with a low-boost setup. On top of the kit, add on fuel managment, injectors, clutch, full exhaust and downpipe and you've easily doubled the cost of the kit. More if you're not able to tune and weld yourself. And that doesn't involve the 500 trips to autozone or little orders from summit racing. I have probably more than doubled my initial budget calculation, and I'm still needing things. If I did it again it would be much cheaper, but the first time is always an expensive learning experience.

Also be aware that the ebay kit isn't as much of a "kit" as it is a collection of random ebay crap. The manifold is made for the m20, everything else is generic and will need to be custom fitted. The quality of many of those pieces is suspect. You might be better off buying high-quality parts where it matters (turbo, wastegate, manifold) and buying cheap things where you can afford it (intercooler+piping, exhaust bends, bov).

e30tech.com is the place for turbocharging the m20 (although you should search before you ask that question).r3vlimited is more of a place for engine swaps.

On that note, if all you want is another 30-50hp, have you considered an m50 or m30 swap? Those engines can produce the extra power you are looking for, and can be swapped in for $2000 with careful shopping. Better reliability too.

You're saying that the turbo manifold cracked as you were installing it? Where exactly and how? If other people using this manifold could chime in as to its build quality and durability, I'd greatly appreciate it.
