So I am running a Ford coil pack and wasted spark (paired as 1-6, 2-5, 3-6) but when I check the timing with a timing light the paired wires are not firing in synchronycity. For example, Cylinder 1 fires at 17° BTDC and cylinder 6 fires at 34°.
In fact, when I checked the pairs that I could check, they each seemed to end up with one side of the coil pack firing at almost exactly double the advance of the other side.
Info:
MS1 - V3
3 coil drivers
Ford V6 coil pack
Dwell: 2.8ms
Discharge: .2
WTF! I tested the coil and even replaced it. The pairs each show continuity with 10 ? Ohms. (Can't remember what i had the meter set on?)
Totally baffled how 2 things could be connected to the same coil and not fire at the same time?
Am I missing something obvious?
J.
