    Exhaust Manifold replacement

I just bought an exhaust manifold and will be replacing it on Monday. I have 8 manifold-to-head studs, the 8 copper lock nuts, the 2 manifold-to-catpipe studs and their 2 nuts, plus the gasket. I have an O2 sensor and wire. I have the manifold gasket. Am I missing anything?

How do I go about installing the new studs, good old double nut method I'm sure, but to what torque? Looking in the Bentley now, but I wanted to go ahead and see if I've overlooked anything.

You won't torque the studs into the head you run them in a certain depth. Pretty much just measure protrusion on an old one before you pull it out.

Double nut method is the way to go. I would use a torch and get the studs red hot before trying to turn them. However I did get away with soaking the studs overnite w/ PB Blaster on my son's eta head.

I would also have an e-z out, drill and the correct tap handy, just in case.

This is on hold, because I just found out TODAY that the ACTUAL exhaust leak is on the header pipe just BELOW the mani. When I stuck my fingers up there to check, it felt like the mani was busted. Now I have to go find a welding shop. Crap.

      Thanks anyway guys.
